What a wonderful week we’ve had in Teddies!
This week, our learning adventure has been all about our families and homes. The children have loved telling us about the special people in their families, who lives in their house and what their homes are like.
It was especially lovely to welcome so many grandparents into nursery for our Grandparents Afternoon. The children were so excited to share their nursery with them and enjoy some very special moments together.
We have been busy getting creative, using natural resources to represent our families in beautiful frames. The children explored different types of homes, including houses, flats and bungalows, and had a go at tracing their shapes and talking about the similarities and differences between them.
We also brought maths into our learning by using numbered houses and matching the correct number of objects to each one. This led to some lovely conversations about how many people live in our own homes.
Out in the garden, we went on an insect hide-and-seek adventure! The children searched for hidden insects and learned about where different insects make their homes, comparing their habitats with the homes that we live in.
Finally, we got crafty with some junk modelling, using a variety of recycled materials to design and build our very own homes. The children showed lots of imagination, creativity and problem-solving as they decided what their homes needed and how they wanted them to look.
