Over the past two weeks, our Pandas have been exploring All About Me & Our Feelings, using The Colour Monster as inspiration.
The children have enjoyed learning that feelings can be represented by lots of different colours and, most importantly, that it is okay to experience lots of different emotions.
We have explored this through a range of fun and sensory activities. The children loved getting messy with coloured bubble foam, exploring different colours and textures while talking about how these made them feel.
We have also been encouraging the children to share their own feelings, interests and preferences, helping them learn more about themselves and about what makes everyone different and special.
Our Colour Monster activities continued with lots of colour matching. The children matched different colours to the Colour Monsters, supporting their colour recognition and understanding.
We also explored our fingerprints, looking closely at the different patterns and marks and discovering that everyone’s fingerprints are unique.
Through these activities, the children have been developing their self-awareness, emotional vocabulary, communication skills, colour recognition and understanding of what makes each of us individual.
It has been lovely to see their confidence growing as they begin to express themselves more and celebrate what makes them who they are.
